How should the circuit board be plated?

Publish Time:

In the production process of the circuit board, it is very important to perform reasonable plating. The plating work can be done to ensure its good performance. So how should the circuit board be plated?

Finger-finger plating

Finger-bar type plating is also called protruding part plating. Rare metal is plated on board-side connectors, board-side protruding contacts or gold fingers to provide lower contact resistance and higher wear resistance. In electroplating, gold is often plated on the protruding contacts of the board-side connector with nickel plating on the inner layer. The gold fingers or the protruding parts of the board edges are manually or automatically plated. At present, the gold plating on the contact plugs or gold fingers has been plated Replaced by lead and plated buttons.

2. Through-hole plating

There are many through-hole electroplating methods. It is common to establish a satisfactory electroplating layer on the hole wall of the substrate. In addition, through-hole plating is a necessary manufacturing process subsequent to the drilling process. However, this operation will cause damage to the subsequent electroplated surface. In this case, we can use ink to solve it.

3. Reel-linked selective plating

Roller-linked selective plating can use manual plating production lines or automatic plating equipment. Selective plating of each pin is very expensive, so it must be batch welded. In plating production, it is usually rolled to the required thickness The two ends of the metal foil are punched, cleaned by chemical or mechanical methods, and then the appropriate metal is selected for continuous plating. The pins and pins of electronic components, such as connectors, integrated circuits, transistors, and flexible printed circuits, are all plated to achieve good contact resistance and corrosion resistance.

4. Brush plating

Brush plating is an electrodeposition technique, and not all parts are immersed in the electrolyte during the plating process. This method can only plate a limited area without affecting the rest.

Therefore, it is very important that the circuit board is properly plated to ensure its good performance.
