How to judge the quality of the circuit board

Publish Time:

For many electronics engineers and purchasers, they are very unaware of the fact that there is no very standard judgment method, but preliminary judgments can be given from the following points:

First distinguish the materials of the board from the surface of the circuit board, and then compare the ink color of the board, copper plating, surface treatment and odor.

Circuit board materials are generally as follows:

1. The price of ordinary HB cardboard and 22F is the most favorable, easy to change and break, and it can only be used as a single panel. The color of the component surface is dark yellow, with an irritating odor, and the copper is rough and thin.

2.Single-sided 94V0, CEM-1 board, the cost is higher than cardboard, but it is cheaper than half glass fiber board, the component surface color is light yellow, mainly used for industrial boards and power boards with fire rating requirements;

3.Single-sided half-glass board, the cost is slightly higher, and the two sides are greener than the strength of the cardboard; copper is better than cardboard and has no odor.

4.FR-4 glass fiber board, higher cost, good strength, green on both sides. Basically, most of the double-sided and multi-layer hard boards are made of this material. Copper deposition can be very precise and relatively fine. Unit boards are also heavier.

No matter what color the ink is printed on, it should be smooth and flat. There should be no false copper exposed, no blistering, easy to fall off, etc. The characters should be clear.

Surface treatment includes: OSP circuit board, immersed gold circuit board, tin spray circuit board, carbon oil circuit board and other processes, all of which require PAD surface to be free of contamination, otherwise it will affect solderability, the tin sprayed surface needs to be flat and not uneven.
