In the more complicated instruments and equipments, plug-in connection is often used. This "building block" structure not only ensures the quality of mass production of products, reduces the cost of the system, and provides convenience for debugging and maintenance. 1. Standard pin connection

This method can be used for external connection of PCB, especially in small instruments, pin connection is often used. The two PCBs are connected by standard pins, and the two PCBs are generally parallel or vertical, which is easy to achieve mass production.

2. PCB socket

This method is to make a printed plug from the edge of the PCB. The plug part is designed according to the size of the socket, the number of contacts, the distance of the contact, the position of the positioning hole, etc., so that it matches the special PCB socket.

When making a board, the plug part needs to be gold-plated to improve wear resistance and reduce contact resistance. This method is simple to assemble, has good interchangeability and good maintenance performance, and is suitable for standardized mass production. The disadvantage is that the PCB cost is increased, the PCB manufacturing accuracy and process requirements are higher; the reliability is slightly poor, and poor contact is often caused by the oxidation of the plug part or the aging of the socket spring. In order to improve the reliability of the external connection, the same lead-out line is often led in parallel through the contacts on the same side or both sides of the circuit board.

The PCB socket connection method is often used for products with multi-board structure. The socket and the PCB or the bottom plate have two types of reed and pin.
